Apple Watch Series 3. Wrong Update offered

I just got an Apple Watch series 3 GPS+Cellular from a friend. She hasn’t used it for 2+ years so I knew I would need to update it while pairing. I know the newest update for the series 3 is 7.5 but mine is only showing 6.3 which I know is for Apple Watch Series 1&2. Does anyone know why it’s not showing 7.5?

I may have misunderstood your original post. I thought you were trying to update from an earlier version, and the only update available was 6.3. Is that the version it's on now?

I don’t know what version the Watch is on right now unfortunately. She had reset it before giving it to me. I think it may be on watchOS 5 or so.

Nevermind. I switched Wi-Fi’s and now it shows 7.5
