I woke up this morning to a dead watch at 0% when it was at 70% last night before bed.

We had daylight saving this morning at 2am where the clock was brought forward for an hour.

The watch was stuck on a reboot loop and would not charge up or restart.

I thought I had a faulty watch and was organising an express replacement.

But a fellow Australian forum user pointed out this is due to a bug in the Infograph Activity complication

“For everyone with their watch stuck in a reboot loop – your watch isn’t faulty. I think the problem is due to a daylight savings bug. Here’s how I got out of the loop during the night when I noticed the battery was draining fast:

Make sure your watch has some power – charge it up. Then go to the Watch App on your iPhone. Select a watch face that is far away from the Infograph Modular face with the Activity complication. Tap on Select as current Watch Face. Wait for the watch to finish its current reboot loop. The reboot will then stop and you will land on the green charging display. Unlock the watch and you’ll be at the selected screen.

I’ve noticed that selecting Infograph Modular face with the Activity complication will cause even the Watch app on the iPhone to crash. My guess is just to wait until tomorrow, after daylight savings, for everything to work properly again.”

So if you’re having a dead watch this morning on the east coast of Australia, follow the above steps!
