Hi - I have an Apple Watch Series 4. I am stuck on a version of OS8 and cannot update to OS9. Kept getting message that "the watchOS update couldn't be verified because you are not connected to the internet". I had the watch paired to my phone and my phone was definitely connected to my home wifi (Virgin Media Hub 3.0). I unpaired the apple watch, reset it and now cannot re-pair it back to my iPhone - same message appears. Basically it is now a brick! I have tried to pair it using a different network but still get the same message. Has anyone else got this problem? Is it a software or hardware issue? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I’m guessing you’re using one of those cellular routers. Sometimes they don’t play nice with network traffic. It’s the same with if you’re using public Wi-Fi. I would say if you know someone that has Internet with a regular router, try that.

My wife is having exactly this same problem with her watch, and we don't have a cellular router. Any solutions out there?

LATER : The modern equivalent of ctrl-alt-del did the trick. Restarted her iPhone and watch and all is good.
