I can't find anything on the Apple website which tells us what the displays are made of. In previous generations, it was clear the aluminium cases had Ion-X Glass displays while all higher end models had sapphire glass displays. But this info is suspiciously missing this time round. I've seen aluminium Apple Watches do say on the back of them that they have Ion-X displays, so can anyone with a stainless steel AW6 tell us does it say Sapphire Crystal on the back?

Wasn’t it confirmed to be sapphire on either side?

Several times in the various threads, I believe.

Edit - it's published right here: https://www.apple.com/watch/compare/

Alu is Ion-X, as one can see in the back photos on apple.com.
Stainless Steel is Sapphire, as I can see on my S6 Graphite I received today :)

Right from Apple's website for the Series 6 "Aluminum models have Ion-X glass displays. Stainless steel and titanium models have sapphire crystal displays."

And for the SE "Apple Watch SE has an Ion-X glass display."
