Got my S5 ALU replaced a week ago by the S6 SS as it seemed to be more durable to my taste. Noticed that dock/side button makes very loud clicking sound when pressed or on the other hand depending on a pressing angle somtimes it almost does not click at all. The other issue is that the button is already loose. It can be noticeably wiggled with just a finger tip slightly sliding over it. Never experienced anything on my S5 ALU version, where click was nice and responcive 10 out of 10 times as well as the button was very robust and firm.

I have seen a lot of older threads here and on other forums, where people describe similar issues with their older series SS Apple Watches but non of them confirmed later on, if the issue would eventually get worse or remained as it was.
I personally can live with this minor "deffect" if I would know that a year or two from now this will not cause any larger problems with side button. That's why woud be nice to know whether this issue on any older models evolved to any bigger issue or not.

Is there anyone who decided to go on and live with this issue and could share whether any evolving to worse happened?

If it bothers you that badly, then return it and purchase another one. You might as will take advantage of the return period If you think it could potentially become worse.

Otherwise, then you have to schedule an appointment have Apple to inspect it, which I suspect they won’t deem it as ‘defective’. Just keep in mind, there are loads of variances for the digital crown and power button how they react to a ‘push’. It’s a mass manufactured tech product, not a hand assembled watch. As long as it doesn’t affect the performance of the watch, then I would leave it. However, there’s no telling if it will become a further issue months from now, which is why you could have Apple inspect it at a minimum

Mine isn't like that. The button is tight and the clicks are normal and register perfectly. Sounds like a bit of a manufacturing defect so get them to replace it.

I have a SS series 8 that does this, what did you end up doing? Did you keep it? Was it a problem down the road if so?
