As the title states. I think I am going to get the Apple Watches series 8 cellular. But battery is pretty big factor for me. I was leaning toward the ultra but rather the look and size of the stainless steel. Anyone with a series 7 that uses cellular how’s the battery life? I am looking to barely use my phone and use my watch when I need it. Will it last me at least the day with heavy usage? Thanks

do you plan on having your phone close, but just use the watch to access stuff?

if your phone ins't going to be close, is there wifi where you're going to be?

both of these have great impact on battery life, as the watch will use the lowest power radio it can, meaning if the phone or wifi is available, the cellular radio won't even power on. adding a considerable amount of runtime.

You’re going to struggle with a Series 7 or 8 (I’d guess) to make it through the day if you’re hoping to leave your phone at home and just use the watch. As the previous poster said, Apple doesn’t estimate battery life with that scenario. Cellular is possibly the biggest drain on battery.

I have no idea how the Ultra will fair. I’m curious, myself.

There are a lot of variables that effect battery life as stated by waw74. I have a Watch 7 45mm with cellular. The battery will last all of my 15+ hour day. I do use mine to track my swimming which takes me a hour. It will eat up to 25% of my battery capacity. If I don't charge it when I finish swimming I will end the day with around 13% or less. Since I usually charge it after I finish, that gives me about 50% left in the evening. I always have my iPhone with me and most of the time I am around WiFi.

If you are wanting all day, no phone, no wifi, making calls etc, then I would say it would be an issue. My battery health shows 100% and I would be surprised if it made it all day under heavy use.

I have ordered the Watch Ultra precisely because of the additional battery life.

Hey, I’ve had my series 7 since launch But only this last week i started taking it out on walks without my phone. I’m streaming the radio and tracking my workout, and the odd text message. The walk is just over 50 mins and in that time my watch will go down from 90% to 20% ! Does this seem normal? Battery health is saying 86% max capacity
