From what I could find specs wise, they seem fairly similar besides a bit thinner and slightly larger screen. Is it worth the extra cost to get one? Ive never owned an Apple Watch, this will be my first one. A 46mm Series 10 in Canada is $588, while I can get a series 9 for around $100 less. Is it worth the $100 uncharge to go to a series 10?

Only you can decide if it’s worth it for you.

Take a look at this

Like I said, looking at the specs, it seems it's just the ability to play music on the speaker, larger and thinner. But hard to judge that by looking at specs. So inquiring with those that had previous gen and went to a 10, was the screen and thinness worth a $100 premium

Hard to answer because for most people, switching from a 9 to a 10 would cost more than $100 (around $250 using Apple’s trade in values). It is not worth it for that amount. But buying new, a $100 may be worth it for you. I had a Series 10 for a few days, I noticed the brighter screen, speaker, and thinness. I ultimately returned it because I didn’t notice enough of a difference. But again I already had watches in hand.

I cannot imagine wanting to use the watch to play music from the speaker. But for $100, I’d get the series 10.

Alternatively it might be worth getting a S8 used to get a feel for it. Try until the fall when the S11 will come out.

Very vague question to ask while you are considering to buy a product that has been around for almost a decade. What got you interested in it? How do you see yourself using it? What sounds appealing? What do you care and don't care about? Give us some deets!

I got some gift cards for my birthday, figured I would give an Apple Watch a try lol. My wife and son have one and love there's for the convenience of getting notifications on their wrist. I considered the SE but not a fan of the thick bezels on them, would prefer the more modern look of the s9/10 series watches. Essentially just use one and find out how useful it is for me lol

Which watch are your wife and son using? If they are using generations before S10, I'm sure they'd love upgrading -- meaning you could get the S10, and if it doesn't work out for you, you could make a family member happy by handing it over to them. ;)

Also faster charging and better voice isolation when taking a call on the Watch. And the screen is brighter from an angle and has the 1Hz refresh rate that enables the ticking seconds in always-on mode.

Don‘t dismiss the new thinness, either. It makes the Watch sit so much better on the wrist.
