Apple Watch series one will not hard reset

Apple Watch series one won’t hard reset when holding both side buttons. It asks if I want to reset to factory settings. I try to select yes but it reverts to password screen. Then if I enter one number it goes back to option of resetting to factory settings. Any advice?

Unfortunately, if you can’t get it to hard reset by holding down the digital crown and power button and then it reverts back to the factory settings, but it won’t let you enter the password, then you will have to send it in directly to Apple, they will have to use the diagnostic port to manually to reset it.
