Following the latest update. Previously if you said hey Siri, pause or pause the music, it would pause. Now when I do that Siri says OK I've paused the music, but the music continues to play. Anyone else having this problem?

Not sure it is really faster to turn-on/hey Siri, talk to Siri, wait for Siri to response, than flip up from glance, and one click to mute in glance.

I know talking to a watch, specially from bystander point of view, sometime look very cool, but glance music control always work best for me.

You're probably right. But that's not my question. Is yours working?

I don't use Siri to control music, in fact, barely use Siri at all, talking to my watch all the time is not my thing.
Rather than talking to real live person.

Cool story bro?

Sounds like this thread isn't for you mate.

BTW, using Watch Siri to pause or skip music is incredibly helpful when you only have one hand free, amongst other scenarios.

Can anyone confirm whether my issue is common or novel?

I will answer your question. Issue occurs here on 2.2.1. I have never tried it on 2.2 or earlier, so I don't know intended behavior.
