Are there any 3rd party apps that will display the steps/distance on the watch face in real time?

I'm using Pedometer++ but it only updates the steps/distance every 15-30 minutes.

Any apps that work better and in real time for steps/distance displayed on the face?

Yeah there’s not as far as I know. Definitely annoyed me having switched to AW from Fitbit. Only “solution” I’ve found is just not to worry about steps as much. It’s certainly arguable both ways, but I feel like the metrics for the AW rings are just as good if not better than Fitbit’s narrow focus on number of steps as the ultimate metric. And of course I can still look up daily steps by scrolling down from the Fitness app slightly, so it’s not that hard to view them. Still I agree it’s too bad no watch faces let users have steps easily shown on the screen without having to pull it up manually (and heart rate for that matter).

This could be old information, but Apple used to limit the number of times that all apps combined could do data lookups between charges. It was a pretty small number, which is why apps were only displaying new data every so often. Could still be the reason that you can't see real time data on steps.
