HEllo,

I am a big fan of mechanical watches and as such even when I have to wear my quartz Swatch I go nuts, I know, we all have a weird side and this in not my only one...

Never thought of the Apple Watch as a candidate for my wrist neither it became along time but since my mum suffers both high blood pressure and low hearth beat due to meds interaction I thought the device might come handy to monitor body parameters. Honestly there are a lot of heart rate meters in form of a smart watch for sub $50 price point but dunno how reliable they are, read a few stories about reliability of the Apple Watch in such circumstances and thought I might check real life experiences before eventually forking out sub 400$ for a gadget which might end up resting on a bedside table (she uses an iPhone 5 but only for phone calls).

What is your experience in health monitoring with a particular focus on blood pressure and heart rate with the Apple Watch?

Grazie

There are a few articles out there that show the Watch has saved a few lives from its heart rate feature. However, it doesn't have blood pressure feature unless you purchase a standalone blood pressure monitor to pair it with on the device. It is an expensive tech to use but can be justified for health reason.

There is a problem though the Watch supports iPhone 5S while Watch (Cellular) supports iPhone 6 and up on iOS 11 so if you do plan to get the Watch you will need to purchase an eligible iPhone to pair the device to.
