I am going to be switching carriers next month to T-Mobile. My iPhone is unlocked as it is on the Apple Upgrade Program and the watch which I bought from AT&T has been paid off and unlocked (That one surprised me). Though I am going to migrate my current Phone number to the new line, I don't care about the watch number (yes, it has it's own number assigned my AT&T). I am not sure what I need to do, do I need to cancel the watch prior to migrating to the new carrier so they can add it? Looked at Apple support and information is vague on the subject. Do I need to cancel my watch number after switching? Any help would be appreciated.

I would contact ATT once you port your number(s) over to T-Mobile. If the Apple Watch number means nothing to you then once you have ported your phone number over then call ATT and have them cancel your watch number. That way it will be free and clear. T-Mobile will also assign you a new number(for some odd reason) to your new/existing Apple Watch thru their program called DIGITS.
