Apple yesterday announced a new black colorway for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which will launch September 20. With this new color, there are a few new configurations of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 available to purchase, and Best Buy has the first discounts available on these models for members.

If you're a My Best Buy Plus/Total member, you can get $50 off the new Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black. This knocks the price of the watch down to $749.00, from $799.00. Given that membership prices start at $49.99/year, this deal is best for anyone who already has a My Best Buy Plus/Total membership.

Note: My Best Buy Plus/Total membership required.

Configurations with the black color include the Black Ocean Band, Dark Green Alpine Loop, Black Trail Loop, and the new Black Titanium Milanese Loop. If you're shopping for the Milanese Loop model, shoppers should note that it's priced at $849.00 with the member discount, down from $899.00.

The original natural finish of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 also has a few new band options that are part of Best Buy's discounts. Keep up with all of this week's best discounts on Apple products and related accessories in our dedicated Apple Deals roundup.

Always surprises me that Apple allows this from their retail partners.... isn't it bad optics if your product is already getting discounted before it even hits customers hands?

Only shows ship to customer not store for me. They used FedEx ground with NO signature required. Nope. Going to the store. Probably get titanium AW10 though.

What surprises me is that Apple will allow retail partners to have near constant deals on their products but outright refuses to mark down their products even a hair on their own website.

BestBuy is just trying to get people to pay for a yearly membership. If the discount was available for all, that would be notable.
If they were doing that wouldn't they make the discount a little deeper and not the same exact amount as the yearly membership costs? this only makes sense for those that are already members, and not for enticing new members.

Apple sold through the large black milanese band and only the smaller sizes are available until late October. Looks like Best Buy doesn't have it either. I ordered the medium as I am on the cusp and will return it for a larger band if necessary.

And their yearly membership covers over 10 of my devices including AppleCare. Pay $180 once a year for all of them at once or one at a time? Makes no sense to not consider it.

I was in the Apple Store last week and overheard some staff training explaining this. The reason they don’t discount is because when you buy from the Apple Store you are getting the support and experience of their staff. They’ll show you how to set up the device and have a friendly conversation with you which is customer service you don’t get from discount sites. Whether you agree with that is a up for debate, but that’s their reasoning.

Plus easier returns. No stupid questions asked.

Fair enough but I’d rather have $200 off a MBP or something.

Target red card 5 percent off just preordered online with next day delivery $10 more total $849 compared to Apple website $889 and target easy to return any issues

No doubt, this is true. But, when I worked there, there was a protection of the brand. But all of the OP’s points are also true, along with yours. Heck, at some third-party retailers, they’ll find the most petty reason to not give you a full refund; “oh, box is opened?” Etc

Since this year was a pass year for Ultra, and the Series 10 got a design and big processor update, I am thinking next year there will be some bigger changes to the Ultra.

Good to know about the discount. But should have been made available without membership

I guess color is a bigger factor than O2 sensors...
So from my understanding, the O2 sensors are on the watch but disabled which also tells me is the same technology other AW have. For the life of me I cannot understand why Apple did not settle this O2 lawsuit before this really cool black version of the U2 was revealed this year. In case Apple hasn't noticed, it is not on a winning streak lately with other lawsuits & regulation battles.
