Ok - am I the only one experiencing this difference in Apple Watch Ultra 2 charging speeds?

If I charge in the evening, about an hour after a workout, and having just rinsed and dried my watch, it’s a very slow charge. About 45 minutes for 30% gain. Starting at 35% charge. It takes about 3-5 seconds for the watch to recognize it is on the stand before charging.

If I charge any other time, not having rinsed it, it’s super fast. About 20 minutes for a 35% gain. The watch essentially instantly recognizes that it is on the stand.

Is it just as simple as the watch still being a little wet after I rinse it that slows it down? Something else?

Okay, that does sound a little bizarre. I had a similar problem with the 1st gen Ultra. It would randomly stop charging. It didn't matter whether I changed the cable, charging method, or wiped the back of the watch. The only way I could get it to charge was to shut it off completely and then charge it. I assumed it was a defective model or something, and I returned it. I wonder how widespread these intermittent charging issues are?
