Hey everyone,

just wondering how comfortable the AW Ultra is for working out? I noticed it is a very thick watch. I currently have the apple watch stainless steel series 7 and sometimes when doing pushups I end up pressing the crown and it is annoying. does the thickness of the ultra makes it uncomfortable for working out?

Thanks,

The Ultra is much better for working out as the crown is protected somewhat from accidental presses while doing pushups etc.

This would happen to me a lot while using the regular AW. I never had this happen while using the Ultra.

There is one thing I have experienced though, and that's the side button (just below the crown) being accidentally pressed, when I wear work-out gloves.

The weight of the AWU is very light compared to its size. IMO, only the very sensitive will have an issue with it's weight.

Thank you for your feedback. I guess I'll buy it and give it a try.

I've found regardless of watch size, it matters more how I wear it to prevent accidental presses. I try to position it at the end of my forearm bones where nothing moves, and not onto my wrist bones. Then the Ultra is crazy comfortable for me while active. I wear my Ultra that way while contorting into all kinds of pretzels during yoga, and it's all good.

I’ve not once had any accidental button presses with my Ultra with any bodyweight movement.

I do, sometimes, however, get an accidental long press triggering the emergency signal when I’m in the garden, wearing gloves and long sleeves, and leaning heavily on my left wrist. It’s not often and certainly not consistent.

As for comfort? Couldn’t ask for more. I wear it rather snug at all times; I don’t like watches that flop around. It just stays glued to the spot and doesn’t cause any discomfort or irritation.

(I’ve got the Starlight Alpine band, so, of course, I stay on top of keeping it clean — not necessarily every day, but at least every few days. The couple times I’ve waited more than that to clean it, it’s gotten gross and I’ve had small red splotches begin to show.)

I run on a regular basis (around 5 miles at a time). I love the Ultra for running. The large screen is so much easier to see and manipulate while running. I do some light lifting and also wear it then. Never had one problem.
