I received my Ultra today and when going through setup, it pairs with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I try to restore a backup from my S7, which is on watchOS 9.1, it says a software update is required for the Ultra, it checks for an update, and then says it's up to date 9.0.1. and I can't get the Ultra past that screen. I have my S7 turned off. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! I am on the Paired and restore from backup or setup as new on my iPhone. Should I set it up as new to install the profile? Don't want to mess anything up. I really appreciate the help.

I'm on this screen currently on the Ultra, can't get past this screen. Should I setup as new on my iPhone in order to download the beta to the Ultra? Then unpair and restore from backup? You are saving me! :)

Setup the Ultra on the current watch OS. Once that’s done enroll in the beta software. Download 9.1. After that’s complete unpair the watch. Then repair and restore from backup.

You're the man! Restored everything to my Ultra. Thanks again for the instructions.

There should be a better way, but unfortunately there isn't when you are on a beta. Glad you got everything working.
Just curious, I’ve never put a beta on my watch. But when I set up my new watch I didn’t have to restore anything. Everything was set up by scanning that code screen on the new watch with my phone. Everything transferred to it including the cell service. Would beta software on the old device affect that process since the new one didn’t need to be restored from any backup? If I had wanted to install a beta afterwards I could have followed the instructions to install the beta profile, but I never would.
