I have noticed that my alpine green band for my Apple Watch Ultra rattles when my wrist is resting on a table and I receive a notification with the Taptic Engine.

My band isn’t too loose on my wrist and I can tap all four corners of the Watch and hear clicking from the metal on metal.

Exchanging the band tomorrow at my local store, hopefully it goes smoothly since the band is linked to the Watch purchase and can be annoying to deal with.

Anyone else with this issue?

I went to a US apple store today and they weren't willig to let me swap the band without returning the whole watch

Mine is doing this as well, but not super consistently. One out of every 3 or 4 vibrations/notifications will have a rattle I can't consistently reproduce. Also an alpine band, in starlight.

My yellow ocean is tight as can be. And I’ve read stories over the years here with people having issues and got it replaced.
You might run into the issue that they don’t have bands on hand…

I have two loose white strings near the clasp on my Alpine Loop. They were not properly glued. My fear is this the beginning of more fraying and want a new band. They are not being very helpful in replacing the band. They want a full return. It is ridiculous to do a full return just for the band.

yes, my orange band was/is doing this as well. I went ahead and bought the yellow ocean band and I love it as its even more comfortable and does not rattle!

I just got the ocean loop in midnight and it is amazing. I think this is way more comfortable than the alpine loop.
100% agree. My Ultra came with the Ocean Yellow and love it. I got the Orange and Starlight Alpine loops but ended retuning them because I found them uncomfortable. After returning them I purchased another Ocean band in white this time. I also have a black/gray Trail band on order.

I am having this issue as well with my Alpine Loop. I thought I was having issues with the haptics because I got a buzzing sound on some notifications, but after looking further into it, I noticed it was the band. It seems like the band doesn't have a good fit with the watch leaving it it vibrate with the notifications.

My Alpine Loop rattles with haptics as well. It calls attention to my notifications, and I don’t like it. Afraid the Trail Loop will do it too since it also uses Titanium lugs.

Does this happen with the stainless steel watch and bands with stainless steel lugs ie. the Milanese loop or stainless link bracelet? I’m surprised that Apple didn’t prevent metal-on-metal rattling here.

The only thing I’ve noticed about bands is, sometimes the damn things don’t want to go on or come off!!no rattles from my alpine or ocean.

Just had a thought that maybe, just maybe titanium has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion vs. stainless steel and they had to make the lugs smaller so that they’d still fit in when they expanded at high temps (thus introducing rattle at normal temps).

But NOPE. Did a quick Google search and turns out Titanium has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion vs. stainless steel. There goes that theory…

Yep that’s why they use ti for things. Better strength to weight ratio and more stable to temperature changes.

I've just got my ultra with an alpine band. It rattles on about 1 in 4 vibrations. It's annoying but I like the band. Any tips?

Same or similar issue with my alpine band. Every so often I hear a rattle or click noise when getting a haptic notification. I initially thought it was something internal to the watch but then checked the band at the connection points to the watch - sure enough there is a bit of play/wiggle there, and when tapping it, it reproduces the click sound.

Has anyone found a solution? Is it a defective band? Defective watch? Is it inherent to the design and just something to expect?

It’s not really a big deal - and if it’s just how it is then I’ll just forget about it. Thanks!
