I don’t see that happening in the near future, if ever. Screen is too small and the impact on the battery would be too important for the use benefit. The same reason I don’t see 5G coming in the AW anytime soon, there’s just no use for that speed on a watch. I will always prefer more health features or better battery life over 120 hz display on a smartwatch

Technically speaking Apple watches already have "ProMotion" because of the Always on display, but it works in reverse, instead of boosting the refresh to 120hz it caps it at 1hz when needed to preserve battery which is more important on a watch (that already have bad battery life) than ultrafluid motion on the 10 minutes a day you may "need" it.

Yeah, the only speed bump the Watch needs is in the OS and overall animations. WatchOS 7 made them faster but they are still bad. No stacked notifications, slow af when dismissing them, etc etc (for the S4 at least)

I guess I have become too spoiled using my 13 Pro Max, and I just want everything with the ability to display at 120hz. It doesn’t help that my other main device is the M1 12.9 iPad Pro.
