Guys - bought a watch series 7 on ebay but it won't turn on. It's from a pretty reputed seller. Before I open a case with ebay, just wanted to troubleshoot. Is there anything specific I need to do except for leaving it on the charger for a few hours. Currently when I place it, there is no green or red light that flashes. The screen just remains black

Also any way to tell the specific model like A2477 etc - doesn't show on the back of the watch

Thanks

I looked up the serial number and it seems to have applecare+ but the edition I bought is an Asia edition - would a local US store be able to repair/replace it?

1. Try leaving it on the charger for a period of time.

2. Try a hard reset. Hold both the side button and the Digital Crown until you see the Apple logo. The release them.

If it still won't work I would contact the seller.

Ok, got it working but now it's showing me just a different watch faces upon boot-up and not the initial setup meu. How do I go into settings? I'm curious to see what the current configuration looks like before doing a factory reset. It was sold to me 'as-new' but suspect it's been utilized before

Turns out there is an activation lock on the phone per apple support - any way to remove it sending the sale invoice to apple?
Also what online link can I use on apple.com to show it has an activation lock so I can send a screenshot to seler

It sounds like you need to take it up with the seller. You won’t get around the activation lock. That’s what it’s there for.

I ran into a similar issue with a carrier locked iPhone a while back when I tried to get a good deal on a replacement phone for my father-in-law when his crapped out. The seller took it back and refunded the phone.

Let the seller make it right. If they won’t exchange or refund, then take it up with the sales platform or your credit card/bank.

Just wanted to provide an update from the Apple store and it turns out it’s a counterfeit watch. Does anybody know if Apple Watch it will have global bands for usage throughout the world?
