Apple Watch's usage distance from the iPhone?

What will the Apple Watch's push notification distance be from the phone? Can leave my phone on the kitchen counter and go upstairs? Same question goes for taking call on the Mac with Yosimite. How far can the Mac be from the phone in that sittuation?
 
They've been very quiet on specific details like this so I think we can assume they haven't quite finished working it out entirely yet...

Things like screen PPI haven't been announced either so either they're still not 100% sure on what the final product will be or they're not particularly impressive compared to competition.
