There is a (i think new) subtle difference between the colours/shades on the top menu bar in the apple.com/uk site compared to the US site.

Yes indeed, the UK website has a darker black. However, it is only on the iPhone page, all other product pages such as iPad, Mac and so on have the same gradient as the US one.
A mistake I guess? since apple prefers a greyish tint over black for the navigation bar.
