Apple Wireless Keyboard won't pair up

I purchased an Apple wireless (small aluminum) bluetooth keyboard in advance of getting my iPad WiFi + 3G. I have had the iPad for about 3 weeks now and just today decided to try the keyboard. The iPad recognizes the Apple Keyboard but it won't pair up. Is there a setting I am missing or is there an iPad specific wireless Apple keyboard?

Never mind, fixed!!!

Went back and tapped on apple keyboard. A message popped up on th iPad asking to type a number in followed by a return. Much to my surprise the keyboard hooked up!!!

I'm trying to get the apple wireless keyboard to work with my iPad with much luck. I have turned off bluetooth on my iMac and connected my old imac keyboard, and turned on the bluetooth on the iPad, but it doesn't want to find the wireless keyboard, I have turned off and back on the iPad, and pressed the power button on the keyboard, but the iPad just doesn't want to find it. Are there any other settings on the iPad for bluetooth that I am missing ?
