How comfortable is it really? Been thinking of picking one up this weekend, but i don't want to get it if I won't end up using it much... A lot of times i use my ipad in the evening- when the fiance and i are watching tv at night, if he starts watching something I'm not into, I'll play on my ipad a bit. The virtual keyboard is fine for short typing, but if I want to make a long lj entry or forum post or journal entry, I get frustrated using it as it's just too slow for me.

Can you use the wireless keyboard balanced on your lap? How and in what circumstances do you usually use it, and would you reccommend I get one this weekend? Thanks :)

I LOVE mine...
I use it when I'm using my laptop.
I am a GIS specialist and when I use my MBP I use a 2nd screen and the laptop screen and the keyboard under the laptop. I can type for days on it...

I bought one for my iPad 1, and used it a lot in the beginning, but hardly used it when the newness wore off. I mainly use the virtual keyboard while lounging on the couch, or laying in bed. Since I got the iPad 2, I've been using it again, but mainly at work on my desk for emails and forum postings. If you type a lot, the wireless keyboard is the way to go, and it is very confortable.

I love my apple keyboard! I use with my IPad on my bed and the keyboard on my lap. It's very comfortable and much better than using the touchscreen. I even use it with my MBP

It's cool, but I barely use it with my iPad. I mainly use it when my mbp is docked. Right now it's sitting in my draw in a neoprene case.

Glad I bought it tho. Quality keyboard.

The trouble is it's less hassle to use the virtual keyboard most of the time so you end up getting more practice with it. Then, using the keyboard requires touching the screen now and again anyway.

You'll get one and in two months remember this thread and say "Doh!"

I have one, and it is great for what it is. it is for my mac mini which is just a server, so it is never used. i share it with my ipad, and once took only the keyboard and ipad with me. worked ok. but honestly, i don't use it all that much at all.

Apple Wireless Keyboard

I went to the local Best Buy and purchased an Ipad 2 with wireless keyboard.

The new wireless keyboard had to be ordered, it is not compatible with the first version Ipad. The wireless keyboard was really nice. I am extremely picky.
