I'm shocked about this. My girlfriend's iPhone 5 has the battery issue (she needs to charge it twice in a day) . After talking with Apple we sent the phone. Today they called us saying that they won't change the battery due to the crack on the screen. They claimed that the crack could be the reason of the battery issue.

It seems a cheap excuse to me. What do you think? I never expected this from Apple Support.

Have them fix the Cracked glass for her.

Its going to cost you but I bet the battery wont be a problem then...

I don't think that fixing the glass improves battery life... It's just a small crack of about 1cm in one corner of the device.. not even touch the visible screen.. really disappointed

They cannot replace the battery if the screen is cracked without replacing the screen. The screen has to be unscrewed at them pried of its adhesive. Doing so would likely result in the peice of cracked glass coming away and destroying the touch digitiser.

Yea its not really directly related.

But they cant take the old battery our without busting the cracked glass even more.

Even if they could remove the cracked glass they cant put the cracked glass back into place and glue it perfectly.

Which means you have to have replacement glass to put on after the battery is replaced.

Iam guessing if you get that glass they will honor the battery fix.

They offer us to repair the screen and replace the battery, but paying all, including the new battery. It costs near 300€ so we won't go ahead. :(.
