Hi,

I have a MBP 13” late 2016. My Mac started to show the classic strips glow/shadow of flexgate at the bottom of the screen 4 months ago. And since some weeks ago, it’s not turning on at all. Everything else works fine on an external display - trackpad, keyboard, TouchBar...

I called Apple Support (stores closed in my city), told him the problem and *I think* he knew there was a repair program. But he asked me to point with the iPhone flash to the center of the screen (???) and relate what I saw. Obviously (???) nothing, black and no backlight. And he told me that then it’s not eligible.

The second case for the repair program is “Display backlight stops working completely”. Maybe I’m not taking something into consideration, but if I started with the glows and shadows at the bottom, I think it’s clear the reason is flexgate. Anyone with similar experiences? Thanks.

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro 13" mid 2017 and also with a flexgate problem. It has been confirmed by an Apple service agent but in order to get it fixed I need to pay over €700 for it. It's a well know problem / design flaw but Apple leaves their customers with nothing. Thanks for nothing!
