Amid the current work-from-home restrictions in place throughout the United States and other countries, tech companies are grappling with how their summer internship programs will work, and Axios has rounded up statements from a number of the largest employers to see what their plans are.

Summer internship programs are important for both interns and the companies, as they provide valuable experience and contacts for students while companies can use them for recruiting purposes as they later look to bring some of those interns into full-time roles.

While some companies are moving their internship programs online, Apple told Axios that it is currently planning a mix of online and in-person opportunities and is looking to bring on over 1,000 interns this summer.
Apple, which told Axios it plans to hire more than 1,000 people for a mix of online and in-person internships and pledged in a statement to "extend to our interns the same precautions and care that we're extending to all our other personnel as a part of the ongoing COVID-19 response."
With universities and businesses still largely shut down, however, the situation remains fluid and it remains to be seen what types of activities will be permitted or appear reasonable a month or two from now.

Three races, excellent. Also, the're too close together.
Remarkable, how the former is routinely visually integrated, yet the latter is even in current times (under lockdown) seemingly not thought through at all!

The key change according the Axios
"Big Tech's summer internships go digital" article, following their headline is obviously the extension of the work-from-home roles offered & to see Apple show
neither the sensibility one would assume they could & would want to express,
nor the creativity in sales (employer branding), when advertising for these opportunities..

You're joking, right? You would expect them to do another photoshoot for this career marketing just to show people sitting further apart or working from home?

Get used to clear plastic barriers, teleconferencing, face shields, masks and gloves. Welcome to 2020

This is positive two fold (the human race is, in part being recognized, sexes demonstrated, and closeness shows no animosity/fear/hatred/despise amongst them). That's what I see, how I've always lived. As we say in Jamaica 'Out of one, many people'

You mean a great opportunity for the rich students.
  1. They are paid
  2. Even if it was for free, it would still be a great opportunity as It allows you to validate your degree and having experience at Apple is a huge plus which will allow you to find a lot of well-paid jobs

If you allow my quoting a very reasonable person;
”You’re joking right”
One of the most valuable firms in history goes out and organizes a photo shoot in the process of planning such an announcement? That is not how the game works.
Having had the chance to
learn good corporate skills?
myself, I’d assume the number of full time staff members solely responsible for managing (maintaining what is, not concerned with what will be) the hundreds of thousands of media files used in the current period, well exceeds the total headcount in your average startup.
There surely was a wide range of alternatives.

Disclaimer: There is a career to be had in the area of reasonable analysis of single frames of promotional videos.
