So the AppleCare on my iPhone 13 Pro has run out after two years. I have the opportunity to keep it going. I am not sure I should continue with AppleCare or not. I will likely buy the first month at least but after awhile not sure it will be worth it. What do you guys think? Should I continue AppleCare? Thanks as always for the feedback.

You have a 2-year-old phone, presumably with a 2-year-old battery. Figure it'll need a battery within a year, two years at the outside. I'm presuming USA on pricing here, but it's relatively similar everywhere. I'm also presuming that you plan to keep the phone for (at least) 2 years - either personally or handing it down to a family member.

AppleCare+ for 2 year will cost you $240. A battery will be $89, so deduct that from your cost - the "Real" cost is $151. So basically, is the protection from damage and/or failure, worth $151 to you? Keep in mind that the 13 Pro doesn't have a replaceable back glass; with AC+ if the back glass gets cracked it's $29... without AC+ it's $449.

I'm not going to opine; that's a decision that you need to make.

If you pay it monthly it’s not really noticeable to most people’s monthly expenditure, it’s one of those things that is IMO better to have and never need than to need and not have…

You decide.

Looking back now, the money I spent on AC+ for my 12 Pro Max was a "waste" of money because I never had to use it but it's insurance. It's there for your peace of mind so I guess I did get my worth out of it.

If I had the option to keep paying for AC+ after my 2 years were up then I'd probably have done it. If at the end of my 2 years for my 15 Pro Max i have the option then I will do it.

In all the times I've bought AppleCare only once has it came in useful and that was when my iPad Pro started crashing randomly. It'd have cost me ~£375 to get a replacement iPad if I didn't have AC+. Since I did have it then it cost me £0. Well, I did pay £130 for AC+ when I got it so it already more than paid for itself.

You need to decide for yourself. Can you afford to keep paying for it? Do you want to keep paying for it? Do you want to risk it? Do you want peace of mind?
