I bought an imac a couple months back and returned it along with the applecare registered to it...

funny thing is the apple store I go to never (and I mean never) checks the inside box to make sure all the content is there...

long story short, I forgot to bring the actual applecare box with me but got the refund anyway...

Now that I'm about to try buying one again my question is:

Can I get away with registering the apple care I have with the new machine?

or is it just a useless box that has no value?

Enough lying can always get you somewhere, my friend. However, it would be really hard to lie your way into free AppleCare, seeing as how Apple processes it to the device before the box is even in your hand.

Best of luck.

HA! Thought so.

ah well...a guy can dream...

I never have any luck...:(
