applecare extended warrantee transferable?

Is the applecare extended warrantee transferable? I found a good local deal on a 2.16ghz 15" macbook pro. It has about 700 days left on his applecare warrantee. He says he has the receipt. I was just wondering if it is transferable and if I need anything other then the receipt to have work done on the laptop if it is needed.

Applecare follows the computer, so yes it transfers.
