Hello,

I have an iMac 21,5" mid 2011. Since I bought it the hard drive makes an irritating noise. That spinning noise that a hard drive makes when it's old. Performance of the hard drive are fine, nothing is slow. But the sound is driving me crazy so I want a new hard drive.

Can it be fix for 'free' if I buy Applecare or isn't the hard drive in the Applecare plan? I hope somebody can help me.

Greetings,
derksen

Is your iMac already out of warranty ?... You cannot buy AppleCare if original warranty is already up...

If you still have Apple warranty they will replace the drive... Get an external and do a backup if you don't already have one.
