I have just purchased a new, sealed copy of Applecare for iPad (which I had planned to apply to my iPad 2), but I am now 99% certain I will go for an iPad 3 when it comes out (hopefully next month).

Do you think I will be able to use my unused Applecare for iPad on my iPad 3?

I know it's conjecture, but have there been any instances of Applecare for a particular product not being usable on a newer version of the product, once released?

Even if someone answers you on here I would call AppleCare just to make sure. I could tell you anything but your not going to call me for warrenty work know what I mean;)

It's chicken and egg really...As posted above calling Apple is the way to find out if you can use that AC on your ipad3, but your 2 will be worth more in re-sale value if it goes with AC on it.

Only you can decide.
