Hey guys im goin to buy a 15 macbook pro soon and i was lookin on here for must needs when gettin a macbook. So i found a good case and probably get office due to me goin to college in fall and im goin to need all those applications. But when i was lookin for the applecare protection plan i couldnt believe it was $350! So i looked around and saw this website called Gainsaver.com which had the same exact applecare for $240. Now my question is has anyone ever used this site and could it be legit

Dang if i buy the mackbook pro and the applecare in store can i get the education discount and would i need to bring anything to verify it?

Thanks for the replys

it totally depends on the person, sometimes there really cool other times there having a bad day. Im a student myself but when im not im going to continue to use it anyway because I like to buy my computers online because I do them cto. That being said its always worth a try idk how old you are but you could always say your buying it for your daughter/even little sister for college and they may do that.

Well i just graduated high school so hopefully they can tell that im still in school

Also does the education discounts ever end or are they for the whole year

yea then you should be fine just say your going to a college nearby etc. the education discounts last the whole year and also I would wait for the bts event which will either start this tuesday or next tuesday which gives you a free ipod touch with the purchase of a mac. That plus the education discount is a pretty damn good deal.

Thanks and say with the free ipod touch deal can i return it and get the cash or do i have to keep it?

If you return the iPod, your rebate check is canceled. They don't send the check until after the return period is closed. That said, most people sell them via Craigslist or eBay and pocket the profit :)

Thanks guys for all the info ill probably get te applecare through apple since its the same price as gainsaver but more safe

Another question is the anti glare or glossy worth the extra $150? Im not sure if it makes a huge difference

An education discount comes with applecare that has 3 year hardware support and (I think) a year of phone support.
