AppleCare from Craigslist?

Is it safe to buy a sealed applecare for macbook pro 15 from craigslist? I've been trying to research this, but I only find issues from ebay purchases.

I'm in Canada, I checked amazon.ca, but they don't sell it. I believe the apple store sells it for $380+tax :/

Make sure it is sealed? And ask the buyer to see if you can activate it there before paying for it.

The seller is fine with me activating it before paying, and claims that it is sealed.. when google'ing this issue, some posts claim that a sales receipt for the purchase of applecare is required to complete activation but i can't confirm this
