guys, recently I purchased an apple care (sealed full box) from ebay for my sisters laptop and I phone registered it with apple. They asked me for the purchase and gave them the PayPal invoice. As usual I received the applecare certificate by email.
Now I'm about to order mine TB 2017 MacBook Pro. Do we know if anything changed regarding applecare from ebay and/or PayPal receipts?

You bought the basic version of AppleCare, however, does not protect against any kind of accidental damage. That's where AppleCare+ comes into play. AppleCare+ costs an additional $129 and must be purchased either at the same time, or within 60 days of purchasing your iPhone.

Thanks for the reply! Applecare+ is not available on my country so they will not honour it unless I go for example in the U.K. For the accidental damage.
I'm talking about MacBook Pro apple care if it makes any difference

In the UK most folk have insurance, "Buildings and content" insurance, not too expensive.
But say you sat on your spectacles you could put in a claim.
There is a excess, normally have to pay 1st £50.00 maybe £100.00 for cheaper insurance.
Maybe look at this as an option?

This is the issue: I have insurance for my iPad and IPhone but in greece there is not an insurance pack for laptops. So I have 2 options: applecare from Apple Store or applecare from eBay. I clearly prefer the cheaper option but I don't want to risk a scam. I bought twice applecare from ebay (complete sealed package) and activated with apple on the phone. They asked me for PayPal invoice and serial number plus the applecare code and they activate it. Not sure what changed now because I red they are not accepting PayPal invoices

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't see applecare in amazon.co.uk
If you are American ( so no customs fear) you can find pretty decent prices like 134+20 GBP
So far from Europe the lowest price is 208gbp which is almost the same price I can't have with educational discount from apple U.K. Doesn't worth it. On amazon.it the price is 185€
And in greece the price is 259 and sometimes there is 10% cashback so around 230 as well. so I haven't decide yet

For my sister, 6 months ago I found the applecare 80gbp in a auction. Activated with apple no problem so far. Full sealed box and everything. If I find something like that I may consider ebay otherwise I don't know maybe from a premium apple reseller fo a peace of mind

I'm from Italy, as far as I know you are allow to buy EU Apple Care.

Thanks for the insight. It's for the 13" TB MacBook Pro. So I guess the real choice is between amazon.it (189+30 shipping) and local resellers (259-10%). Pretty close... I will try for a week or 10 days to see if I will spot a auction on eBay uk and if not, amazon it or local
