I registered an AppleCare. Verfying the warranty status at Apple's site I found this message:

"Warranty information about your product
Our records indicate that your product is covered under a custom contract. For more information about your coverage, please contact us."

What does it means?

Thanks.

His question really is: 'I purchased Applecare from somewhere other than an authorized apple retailer and now that I have registered it seems dodgy and I am afraid if I actually call Apple it will thus be brought to their attention and I may have wasted hundreds of dollars of my hard earned money in order to save $20 or $30'

Probably bought a stolen code off of eBay.

lmao...thats a good one....

anyway I'm not getting involved..;)

I just put a question here about the meaning of a message.

Five responses...none of them really helped. Why answer?

And what is the email?

You'll have to navigate to the similar page from within your country. I'm the UK so that's where it took me. Since you haven't told us where you're from no one can tell you if Apple has a web presence there.
Failing that, I don't see any other way but to call the US. You could then ask the person if you can continue your enquiry be email rather than phone, if you want.

BTW, when I look at my applecare info, it also says something similar to yours I think - not exactly the same but similar. And I bought mine from Apple. Is yours showing a date for expiry ? If yes then don't worry about it.

Dexter v House,
Thank you for your attention.

Yes, your message is very similar, but in my case it is not showing a date for expiry. Just the message "Warranty information about your product
Our records indicate that your product is covered under a custom contract"
. And below the picture of my MBP, 'Extended Warranty'.

My friend bought the AppleCare when he was in US.

I called to an Apple technical assistance and they said the warranty is valid until march 2011.

I just do not understand why this date is not indicate in the Apple website (AppleCare info). Custom Contract? I've never seen it before...

Thanks.
