AppleCare help

I bought iPhone 4 from ebay and it has 1 month warranty remaining, i want to extend the warranty, so im thinking of buying AppleCare but i have heard stories that Apple refuse to do it because of many reasons such as you need to be the original owner, or have proof of purchase etc.

Can someone enlighten me how AppleCare works?

I don't think you need to be the original owner. Have you called Apple and asked them or go to this link: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and type in the serial number. It will explain whether you're eligible and then you should just be able to buy.
