Hello guys,

I bought a MacBook Pro 2019 15" this week from an online seller (individual). It came with everything in it and I made sure everything was correct. (dates/serials/warranty coverage)

The person who sold it to me said one of his businesses clients bought it at Apple Directly, and he would provide a receipt when he got it from them. Unfortunately it turns out it was purchased in a retail store, but is an official Apple reseller. He promised the receipt but said his client could not find it back. I know for sure it has been sold between 1 - 17 July 2019 at an official Apple Reseller. I do not know the exact store or purchase date, but DO know it was a legit purchase from a reseller.. The retail store won't provide any help because of 'buyer privacy' - even though I just ask for a copy without any private information on it. The serial must be on the receipt, so I can technically show them I own the device.

I was able to purchase AppleCare+ directly from Apple yesterday, since the machine is new. However, in the proof of AppleCare+ e-mail It states: "We may ask you to show the original receipt for your Apple product with every repair or incident"

So in short: I have a proof of AppleCare+ until July 2022, I have the receipt for Applecare+, but I do not have the original MacBook Pro receipt.

In all of these years I've bought most MacBooks directly from Apple Stores and they have NEVER asked me for a MBP receipt. What do you guys think, could this cause trouble?

I think you'll be fine. I've never been asked for an original receipt when I've brought a machine in for repair. As long as you were able to validate the machine and purchase AppleCare from Apple then that should cover you for any repairs. If it was me, I wouldnt be too worried about it.

Thanks for the reply, I felt really bad about the whole thing, I hope it will not be an issue.
