Hello,

Recently picked up an i9 MacBook Pro from local Bestbuy, due to the overall savings as opposed to Apple Store.

My MacBook Pro 2016 was beginning suffer from performance lag and keyboard issues (utilized keyboard fix program numerous times). Overall it’s time for an upgrade I program and compile on the go, so an i9 is a worthy upgrade.

My only concern is AppleCare. Is it worth it? With the issues revolving around the keyboard and such it would seem worthwhile. I did not have AppleCare in my previous MacBook Pro and dropped it in the TSA line, which resulted in some type of performance issue with the SSD.

Overall, is AppleCare worth it when having such a high ticket item that you are continuously on the go with?

Most definitely. I always buy AppleCare with most Apple items I purchase simply because the unit is an 'all-in-one', ie everything soldered t the mainboard now, so you can't fix individual components, making repairs rather costly......

Absolutely. I did a video on this recently. Replaced an iPhone X with the 2 year warranty almost up for $99, no questions asked, and this was with careful use. Absolutely worth it on an item over a few thousand dollars.

Apple care is a must. My display went out 3 weeks out of extended warranty. I would have bought it if I ever had issues with the MBP before.

I just bought my first AppleCare ever after buying all my computers from Apple over the past 15 years. I have had laptops die over silly incidents and did not want to take a chance this time.

It may look expensive and unecessary but I guess that a lot of insurances look that way until you need them.

It's also a peace of mind knowing you are covered.
