which one is better. I’m currently a Verizon customer and I’m wondering if asurion is better or apple care.

Applecare. I don’t trust Asurion at all, and they have had some really negative background in the past with other members who have shared their experiences. But I prefer to work direct with Apple and Applecare. I would recommend you research Asurion if you select them.

How much is apple care and will they cover cracked screens, lost or stolen phones?

Applecare. I've used AppleCare and it is super easy. Although I have never experienced a repair or replacement through asurion, I've read about people having to fight with them to get televisions repaired or replaced by an equal value set.

I have never had apple care so I don’t know what to expect.

Apple Care hands down especially if you live near and Apple Store.

Asurions customer service is not even *close* to being on a level that Apple has as well. Something else to consider.

AppleCare. It’s worth it.

You can go into the Apple Store to have most repairs done. If they can’t, and it’s something serious, they will usually replace it with another device from stock in the store, either new or refurbished which is just as good as new. AppleCare will carry over to the new device they give you.

This year, Apple added the Theft & Loss option which was why many chose Asurion and other 3rd party coverage in the past.

With Asurion the phone has to get sent out for review and repair. Asurion uses any parts they can get their hands on. Once the seal is broken, you may not have the same water resistance rating as when originally purchased.

I know someone who used them and they swear they don’t have the same phone anymore. Nothing they can do and Asurion gives him the run around. Going to Apple at this point only brings much higher repair costs and because he went 3rd party, Apple doesn’t want to touch it.

Go with AppleCare.

I have used Ausrion a few times in past years thru Verizon. Maybe I’ve been lucky but never any issues I would have a new phone within 24-48 hours. Maybe I would consider AppleCare but there is none in my area closet one is like 3hrs. Plus at the time AppleCare didn’t cover stolen or lost iPhones like Asurion does. But I believe AppleCare does now for an extra fee.
