Okay, so I bought an iMac and the three year AppleCare Protection Plan, just for some peace of mind.

I get this email from Apple:

"Thank you for purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan.........Coverage is now in effect and expires on 22/10/2010."

Lovely. Except my iMac won't be delivered until November 2nd. :)

What's the betting my iMac will blow up between 22/10/2010 and 02/11/2010?

Or am I being overly paranoid?

Just kiddin', not making a big deal of it.....but surely your Protection Plan shouldn't kick in until the day your iMac is delivered???

I agree... However if you buy from a 3rd party the "start date" will be extended a bit longer. For instance I bought my MBP from Amazon in mid December. The complimentary 1-year of applecare was set to expire in January 2008, so about an extra month of protection. Just sayin'....
