Does Applecare extend your warranty 3 years from the date you purchase the Applecare, or from the date you purchased your laptop? If I wait until 364 days after I bought my laptop, then spring for Applecare, will it extend my warranty by 2 years or 3?

Thanks.

An additional 2 years starting at the end of the first standard year warranty [which is from purchase date] totaling 3 years.

If you didn't order the machine and bought it from some craptacular store like CompUSA then you might want to check the warranty date. They could have had the computer on the shelf for a month in which case the warranty would have begun on their purchase date. If you provide AppleCare with proof of purchase and a receipt then they can amend it to your actual purchase date. Check to make sure through Apple's support site before you do anything though.
