I've searched but to no avail.

I am going to purchase Applecare for my macbook very soon. However, I am not sure which apple account I've used to register my macbook with. It's either my dad's account or mine. Does it matter on which account do I register the applecare with?

thanks

No, it only matters that the AppleCare plan is linked to your MacBook, as the plans are specific to each type of Mac. Who buys it, or what account is used, is irrelevant.

Agreed. AppleCare uses the serial number of the computer. In the future if you find yourself on the phone with AppleCare, they will ask for the serial number as one of the first steps in the conversation.

So if one were to sell there Mac with AppleCare still covering it. Would their be any problems regarding any repairs or problems with the Mac? Would any of your registered Apple data be available to the new buyer?

No, when you buy a used Mac with AppleCare still on it, you call AppleCare to have the registration transfered to the new owner.
