So just curious on how applecare works. If you get your iphone replaced, does the warranty start over with a year for the replacement model or are you still under the original 1 year warranty from original date of purchase?

I asked an Apple store agent about that, they said it's still from the original date of purchase.

Correct. It's from the original purchase date. I changed my phone out several times and the AppleCare warranty followed each phone. When I sold the phone, AppleCare transfered without issue to the new owner.

+1 ^^^ The warranty date doesn't change with a replacement. This is odd, b/c it seems to only apply to the iPhone. I've had a MacBook replaced and the date was changed to one-year from the date of the replacement, and I've had a MBAir superdrive replaced with the "new" warranty date changing to one-year from the replacement date...
