Hi everyone. I am fairly new to Macs. My question is...how long after I purchase my MBP will I still be able to purchase AppleCare? I want to order my MBP, but I am not sure whether I want to order AppleCare yet. One reason is, I have read from other members that you can purchase AppleCare elsewhere for less than what apple charges!? Please advise. Thanks.

You can purchase AppleCare insurance any time within the first year.

Watch out for scams if not buying it from Apple :apple:

Yes, you have one year to buy it. Do not buy it from eBay or from suspicious online store. Remember that what sound too good to be true, usually isn't true. Buy it from Apple to avoid problems

Thank you. I will purchase it through Apple, but maybe wait a few months.

As it happens, I have a MBP and added Applecare to it a few months after I bought it; you can buy the latter at any time during the first year since you bought the computer, but not one second after that. Moreover, I agree with Hellhammer; buy Applecare from Apple rather than elsewhere; sure, it's more expensive, but it is solid, guaranteed and safe.

Cheers and good luck
