Will will get a refund for the unused portion of the Apple Care since we are really only a year into the apple care?

Thanks,

Sam

So will we be getting the unused portion back?

He is saying you haven't paid for the unused portion so how can you get back something you haven't paid for.

Does apple currently offer a full refund if you haven't used it in a year? if not then you won't get anything back.

No you haven't paid for it. The price is divided over 24 months, of which you have only made 12 payments.

I think that with the iUP plan you are paying monthly (that's with the applecare+) so technically you haven't paid the additional 1 year yet. So I don't think they can even refund you when in fact you haven't even paid for 1 year remaining.

There are usually no refunds on insurance plans just because you haven't had a need to use them.

Not true. I have refunded apple care three times now. However in this case you have only paid for one year to this point and did not buy two years upfront like is usually done. Short answer for this situation will be no refund issued

Bad info you can cancel AppleCare+ anytime and you are refunded the remaining dollar amount based on months left.

You guys are looking at this from the wrong perspective. If I pay for insurance for October, I can't ask for a refund for October in November.

Now, if I pay for October, November, and December, I can ask for a refund of November and December if I cancel my insurance plan.

Not true.

Absolutely true. See my reply above. If you need further qualification, I'll improve upon my statement.

I based my not true comment on buying apple care outright (which is how I buy it.) I will call apple when my new phone arrived and get one years worth of apple care refunded to me.
