Hi I have a question about Applecare.

Is Applecare transferable to a replacement iPhone? I figured if Apple replaced it due to something faulty then yes. But what if you bought a replacement phone due to accidental damage?

How did you replace it? Did you buy a brand new phone yourself or did you pay for an out-of-warranty replacement at the Genius Bar/over the phone?

You can't transfer the AppleCare if it's the former. If it's the latter then it will automatically transfer.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to add that if you did buy a brand new phone on your own, call 1-800-275-2273 (1-800-APL-CARE) and ask for a pro-rated refund of the AppleCare you bought for your damaged iPhone. You will get a refund for the remaining time left on the plan.

Details here: http://images.apple.com/legal/applecare/docs/NA_APP_English_v5.2.pdf under "5. Cancellation."
