I bought a 13 Pro off Swappa and to my surprise, it has AC+ Theft and loss on it until April of next year. The thing is, since I bought it from a reseller on swappa, what is the best way to get info on it? If I have to use it, will I need it to be transferred to me? Not sure how this works.

I don't have AC+ myself, but logically it must be assigned to the specific phone. If it was to a person then you'd be able to pay for it once and use it with anything you own, which I'm pretty sure isn't the case.

As @NoBoMac said the original owner needs to transfer it to you, which means you need to get in touch with them. If they don’t, you COULD use the normal AppleCare+ for repairs, but perhaps not the Theft & Loss portion? Unsure about that.

What they COULD do, is call Apple and get a pro-rated refund on the AC+ and it’ll just disappear. So while you “could” use it without transferring it, it’s best to go ahead and transfer if possible to prevent that from happening.

Thanks guys. unfortunately I think I’m SOL on this.. I reached out to the swappa seller and they don’t have the previous owner’s info either.
