I just looked at the Apple Store to price out a new iPhone 17 pro max. It appears there is no option for a two year plan (that does not include a subscription). Just thought I would mention it since it surprised me and no one seems to have discussed the change yet. Definitely disappointing to me.

Interesting too how they only have the option now of AppleCare+ with theft & loss 🤔

I think this was discussed when Apple Care One was introduced ...

Can someone with AC One tell me if I can only put my iPhone and iPad on it or can I have my iPhone, my iPad and my wife’s iPhone?
I have AC One... it only _offers_ to add devices that are on my Apple ID, but I'm not sure if there is a manual enrollment option.

This.

Though if one shops around, might be able to find "plain" AC+. But might come with conditions like carrier lock. Did not dig deep but 16s from Best Buy still offer AC+ but are tied to carriers. Just bought a Mac a couple of week ago from them and it still had AC+ vs needing to get Apple Care One.

Carrier deals, when they pop up, might be able to get AC+ there as well.

ADD: for example, BB 16e unlocked:
