Applecare through Amazon question

Hi folks,

My iMac 2011 is going to be a year old this month and I'm considering buying the Applecare but through Amazon to save a few bucks and the CA sales tax.

Is there anything I should know before going that route?

Once I received it, do I have to register my iMac's serial number with Apple?

Im sure you will register the serial number. As far as Amazon purchase, i see nothing wrong

I do remember there being issues a few years back of fake codes being sold on eBay, that said if its actually SOLD by Amazon.com, and not a third party vendor, you should be fine.
