Does AppleCare+ transfer from the original device to the replacement device they send? I was under the impression that since I payed two years in advance it did but the rep told me no it doesn’t. Does that mean I get a refund for the months it won’t be valid?

Can't speak about a transfer, but you should be able to get a refund for the unused portion. I have done that with my iPhone.

AppleCare+ should transfer automatically to the replacement device that you receive with the same expiration date.

That’s what I thought. Since a paid in advance for two years but mine didn’t. Been talking to multiple reps about it. Kind of frustrating.

Could it be because I bought my watch on sale at BestBuy?

I haven’t had to use applecare for the watch, but i did for the phone, which got a new serial number as part of the repair. They gave me a letter with the repair saying what they’d replaced and that the applecare was automatically transferred to the new serial number.

On the phone with another rep and he said my AppleCare+ definitely should have transferred to the replacement device and doesn’t know why two previous reps said no. He is working on transferring it right now.

Thank you everyone for the information.

I wonder if it's something that's watch-specific. I'm on the monthly AppleCare, but I had to call them to transfer my plan over to a replacement watch. And then that one ultimately had to be replaced also, and again it didn't transfer over.

The guy that just helped me said mine was a glitch in the system. Luckily I saved the emails that have the serial number and imei number of my old watch. He looked it up by that and was able to fix it.
